THE MIGHTY POLEGROVE LIONESSES

Well, what a weekend of success Polegrove have had once again at the County Finals.  Sadly we were drawn against each other in the Triples semi final….the ‘Young Gun’s’ ultimately victorious but a super game to watch.

SINGLES
The absolutely unstoppable machine that is Rachel Mackriell has, for the eighth time, won the Ladies four wood singles Championship.   What an achievement and we should all be extremely proud to have such an esteemed bowler with us at Polegrove.  Not only did she win the four woods but also the two wood singles and is in the Champion of Champions final as well (date and venue of match to be confirmed)

FOURS
A superb win for our ladies in the County Fours over Southwick Park – a tense, nail-biting end but Polegrove did it once again. The team would like to thank Margaret ‘Scotland’ Adcock for coming in as ‘super sub’ for Sue, helping them on their way to victory …..Lots of silverware to collect again at this years county luncheon!!!!!

To finish the weekend the ‘Old Girls’ Fours title also went to Polegrove with a crushing victory over Southwick Park 21-3.  Huge thanks to Funky for stepping in at the last minute, although nervous put up some useful bowls to help us clinch victory.

(Left to right) Marie ‘Funky’ Gibbon, Nina Allbut, Rosamund ‘Gonzo’ Wood & Rachel ‘The Machine’ Mackriell not forgetting Lesley Beale who helped us get to the final but was unable to attend as she had her milestone wedding anniversary.
